Green Prescription and Active Families Lead

Active Southland is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead the delivery of our Green Prescription and Active Families initiatives. This role involves providing high-quality support across the community, encouraging physical activity and healthy eating through effective client management, administration, and promotion.

You will manage patient referrals, ensure accurate health records, and oversee the Green Prescription team. Key responsibilities include workload management, team coordination, and contributing to the recruitment, training, and professional development of staff. You will also play a vital role in engaging with external stakeholders, developing initiatives for priority groups, and contributing to the wider community well-being efforts.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in sport, recreation, nutrition, or physical education preferred
  • Leadership and management experience, especially in the health sector
  • Ability to build strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Strong communication, organisational, and computer skills
  • Passionate about promoting physical activity and community health

Eastern Southland Activator​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Active Southland is looking for a proactive and community-driven individual to help grow and support sport, play, and recreation opportunities across Eastern Southland. In this key role, you’ll collaborate with local clubs, schools, and the Gore District Council to strengthen community activity and participation.

The role involves building partnerships with local stakeholders, providing valuable insights to inform future planning, and supporting projects that encourage active lifestyles. You will also help facilitate systems change in local sport and recreation, while promoting initiatives such as the MLT Moonshine Trail to engage the wider community.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in sport management, recreation, or physical education

  • In-depth knowledge of Eastern Southland communities (preferred)

  • Proven experience in managing projects and working with diverse stakeholders

  • Strong communication and networking abilities

  • Passionate about fostering active recreation and sport at the local level
