Te Kōhanga Reo i Ngā Hau e Whā is proud to partner with Ihi Aotearoa to deliver an exciting kaupapa bringing tākaro Māori to life across Murihiku. This mahi supports tamariki and rangatahi aged 5–18 through traditional tākaro Māori, strengthening identity, hauora, and whanaungatanga.
Mō tēnei mahi | About the role:
We seek a passionate, energetic, and culturally grounded person to lead tākaro Māori programmes across kura, marae, and hapori in Murihiku. This is a fixed-term role until 31st December 2026, supported by Ihi Aotearoa.
Mōu | About you
This role would suit someone who has a genuine love for fun and working alongside tamariki and rangatahi, is self-motivated and thrives in a kaupapa Māori environment.
- Knowledge of tākaro Māori, or a willingness to learn.
- Some te reo and tikanga Māori capability.
- Experience working with tamariki and rangatahi.
- Excellent facilitation and relationship-building skills.
- Confidence to plan, deliver, and report on programmes.
- A passion for hauora Māori and revitalising cultural knowledge.
- Self-motivated and can work alone or in a team environment.
Pūkenga | Skills:
- Teaching, coaching, or youth work experience is advantageous.
- First aid certificate (or willing to obtain).
- Full NZ Driver’s Licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout Murihiku.
As you will be working alongside tamariki, you will require a clean Police Vet.
